Getting started

From your company's first login to the first approved leave request: your address, sign-in, settings, people, leave policies and pay transparency, in order.

Our team sets up each company with you. This page walks through what happens and what you’ll do, in order.

Each company gets its own address: a subdomain we set up for you, or your own domain, such as hr.yourcompany.com.

People sign in with their Microsoft or Google work account. A second factor is required for everyone, and no HR data loads until it’s checked. See sign-in and two-factor.

HR creates each login. A person’s login stops working on their last day.

In company settings, HR sets:

  • the company’s legal name, time zone and governing law
  • the public holiday calendar
  • work schedules, such as Monday to Friday at 8 hours a day, or a four-day week
  • who receives the monthly leave report and the sick leave report

Add people one at a time, or import them. Each record holds job, department, manager, contract, pay history, emergency contacts, visas and consents. A change can be scheduled for the day it takes effect.

Assign each person a policy per leave type. Leave policies explains accrual, pro-rata, carry-over and expiry.

An employee books leave from their phone. The request goes to their line manager, or to HR when there’s no manager. When it’s approved, the hours come off the balance and the leave shows in reports. Time off has the details.

If your company reports under the EU pay transparency rules, load pay and grades and check the first gap report. Pay transparency walks through it.
